One off the bucket list. I always wanted to photograph a Unduk Ngadau, I guess timing and among other factors keeping me until today. I'm super glad to have actually done it, and I got couple of people that I really appreciate and want thank to. Which I will have a seperate post for that, as for now this is a sneak peek from the recent work that I'm involved in with the Unduk Ngadau.
She is Francisca, Unduk Ngadau 2019. Unduk Ngadau is a title bestowed during the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan. It is a beauty pageant held annually during the Kaamatan cultural event in Sabah, Malaysia.
However in 2020, the Kaamatan Cultural Event was cancelled due to the global pandemic. So I thought for the first time in history Francisca will be the Unduk Ngadau for second year running.
This Year, even though Kaamatan celebration wasn't like how it used to be every year. Me and few of my close friends teamed up and came out with a short film, "Kotohuadan Huminodun" It was an impromptu project featuring two of the current Unduk Ngadaus, Annette and Leticia. The entire production took a week, yes one week. I am amazed with the amount of professionalism and commitment poured in to this project. We want to say Thank you to all crew and cast, you guys are AH-MA-ZING! please check out the Video below.
