IN THE STUDIO : Traditional attire for family sesion, why not?

 photo Jessie_XMAS_122_zpswzrvorvo.jpg

I just love Traditional attire for a family session, not only it is highly contrast against a clean backdrop but it also brings out the vibrancy of colors into the portrait. If you're thinking about it, I'd say do it! this session meant to be FUN afterall.

more from Pete and Goria

 photo blog_PG_zpsxfociswe.jpg

When I enter the room I saw Pete's Nintendo Switch lying around so I thought hey, maybe that is a good idea for detail photographs but then maybe not. So I left it there and proceed with chatting up with the bride. When I saw Gloria's robe with that colorful floral design I thought maybe that Nintendo might come in handy after all LOL!

Here's more from Pete and Gloria's Wedding.

and Many more to come. stay tuned :)

A portrait of Three generations of women.

 photo O_S_MNTG_033_zps0whedz3w.jpg

I was photographing Sharmaine in her white dress couple of days ago, and it indirectly made me teary. Story was, I reach Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu early in the morning starting our wedding photography routine. Sharmaine is the third in her family to have tied the knot, after we have photographed her other two brothers. Yes we have created a very special bond with her family ever since her eldest brother's wedding. When we got the call about the only daughter in the family about to get married, we get super excited and emotional at the same time. Yes, I do not know why I get emotional at weddings recently. After more than 10 years in the industry, I get emotional even more easily. As we're about to head out for Church, I get her to sit down and have a little moment with her mom and grandmom. This is beautiful, 3 amazing women with three different stories. Stories that is powerful enough to get everyone in the room teary, including me. I can't really describe how I felt during that moment, but I hope this image gave the idea. Thank you Sharmaine and Oliver for having us.
 Love you guys❤️

that Dress

 photo anne_zpsuyjw6lqq.jpg

That moment before putting on the dress. I just love this moment, it shows the emotion between the bride and the dress. Yes I believe dress has its own emotion too, the dress that capable to convey the message that you're ready. Capable to transfer the emotion to the certain someone to feel the same way. Did you get emotional when you see your bride in white for the first time? I sure did.

Planning for 'the' Day - part two

 photo _JOJ8013_zpshjibb4ae.jpg

Continuation from : part one

Once you’ve spent some time spreading the news of your engagement and actually enjoying that special time, the budget will need to be the very first thing you finalize to get the wedding planning train going. And that can involve some uncomfortable conversations if you have any family members who are planning to chip in for the big day. So don’t delay! Have those conversations early and determine the amount everyone is comfortable spending, and then build in a 10% “splurge cushion” for any unexpected costs or urges you’ll inevitably succumb to. Be prepared for a reality check when it comes to budgeting for this big day. Many couples don’t realize the costs involved and may find that their dream wedding is a bit out of reach. In that case, be prepared to prioritize. You really can have your ideal wedding on almost any budget if you iron out what exactly is important to you and focus on those few things.

With the budget in place, it’s time to start getting inspired and delving into the nitty gritty details! Have some fun with this part; now’s the time to indulge in the blogs ( Us!Jofanna Bridal) to get a sense of the style of wedding you want. Think about weddings you recently attended. What did you like? What would you do differently? Real life experience is always the best form of inspiration. Don’t forget to involve your fiancĂ© in this step as well! Your wedding should represent both of you as a couple.

Planning for 'the' Day

 photo _DSC34221_zpsuaznlbkx.jpg

First thing’s first: planning a wedding can feel pretty overwhelming at first (trust me, I've been there). While recruiting professionals to help out can be pretty ideal, maybe you’re working under a tight budget, or maybe you simply love going the DIY route. It may be a lot of work, but it is possible to plan your own dream wedding!
It just takes a bit of organization to keep everything on track when you’re faced with endless decisions, lists, deadlines and, you know, your own life to deal with. The trick is taking things one step at a time and recruiting friends and family (including that future spouse of yours!) to help. And give yourself plenty of time to plan. You’ll make things so much harder on yourself if you try to plan and oversee every detail and try to do it all at the last minute. A longer timeline is your friend here—aim for around a year if possible. Now, where do you begin? Come talk to us, Let us tell you our story. The Do's , The Don'ts and the everything in between.
