Amsterdam, Holland

Right after Shooting S+S's Wedding, me and Danny make our way to Amsterdam. Unlike Den Haag, Amsterdam is a busy city.. people around the globe gather here, some for their Historic stories and some for their Awesome Architecture or most for their Green and Red Light District.. haha.. It's one of their Unique attraction. Photo above, you might recognize him from FaceBook Game "Mafia Wars". He's the man I look up most in my Portrait shots.. It's amazing how a Dutch painter that lives in the 17th Century had a Big influence in the way I set up a Shot. Look up some of his Famous work such as, "The Night Watch", "The Jewish Bride", "Return of the Prodigal Son" and many others of his Self-Portraits.

The Dam Square lies in the center of Amsterdam.. just a few minutes walk from the Central Station.

The National Monument, a white stone pillar designed by J.J.P. Oud and builded in 1956 to memorialize the victims of Worl War II, dominates the opposite side of the square.

William De Oranje, Father of the Fatherland or the First King of Holland, was vital to the early struggle for independence. He originally served the Governor of the Spanish Netherlands, but when the Dutch rebelled against Spain's Iron Duke of Alba, William provided them with money and, from 1567 leadership. Assassinated in 1584, William is still celebrated in Het Wilhelmus , Holland's National Anthem.
