Delft, Holland

This is the third and final post entry of my days in Holland. As I'm waiting for the time to travel back to Schiphol Airport, I took half a day tour to the magnificent Delft. Delft also known as the City of Delftware, House of Orange and J.Vermeer with its beautiful preserved historic city center, invites you to go back in time and enjoy the classic mansions, the many Ornamental Stones and Statues. It is the Largely Car-Free center with so many unique shops and canals.

Picture Above is the J.Vermeer Center, Johannes Vermeer(1632-1675) without a doubt the most famous citizen in Delft. He is another Dutch Painter that I admire so much, the way he look at Lighting and Composition is just exquisite. Apart from the atmospheric colors, and the harmonious with balanced composition, it is the depth and the use of light in particular that make Vermeer's paintings so fascinating. Check out, "Girl with Pearl Earring", "Street in Delft", "Girl reading a Letter at an Open Window" and much more.

Nieuwe Kerk, A landmark Church in Delft, in 1584 William the Silent was entombed here. With 6 Euro you'll be granted access to Nieuwe Kerk's Church, The tower and Oude Kerk(you can find J.Vermeer's tomb here) just across the Nieuwe Kerk.

Very Old Bible, 1868, 1730 and 1756

I had a Wonderful trip in Holland, I would suggest all Bride-to-be to list Holland as part of their Honeymoon Plan, and all photographers to gain more knowledge more their famous Dutch Painter. It was a Fun one, shooting for S+S's Wedding in The Hague I appreciate the warm welcome and the great hospitality, I just can't thank you enough. Apart from that, Seeing and learning from the Dutch Painters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer makes me think and see Portraits and Photojournalism in a different way. Their Masterpieces became my Inspirations.
